What is done at home

- Dressings and wound monitoring, in liaison with the treating doctor when needed.
Some treatments are only done at the clinic because they depend on fixed equipment — laser therapy, for instance. The assessment says what is possible at home and what is not.
Area, and how to arrange it
Coimbra and surroundings. Home visits are not booked through the online schedule: they are arranged by WhatsApp, to agree on the day, time, address and what needs to be brought. The price includes travel and is given before booking.
What to prepare
- A comfortable chair, or the bed, with good light.
- A basin of warm water and a towel.

- Yes, with the institution's permission. Regular visits to several residents on the same day are common.
- Do you do wounds and dressings at home?
- Yes, within nursing competence and in liaison with the treating doctor when the wound requires it.
- How often?
- As often as the foot needs: many people have maintenance every four to six weeks; with diabetes it is set at the risk assessment.
